The only theatre company in northwestern Illinois for aging performers 55 and older. They live what they perform and share their experiences in their own words.
They will be performing the plays Calypso and I and 2 versions of Stamina. Calypso and I addresses how important it is to follow our dreams while we can, while Stamina is about doing the impossible at any age. There will be a chance for audience discussion before and after. Come to be INSPIRED!
Dr. joan e. kole, actor and director, has served as a director or assistant director for 70 shows in a variety of theatre settings: professional, community or educational productions in six states. Her BA degree is from Michigan State University; her MA degree from the University of Nebraska; and she was awarded her doctorate from Union Institute & University in 2009. She is a 2007 alumna of DirectorsLabChicago and is an associate member of the Directors and Choreographers Society. Her passion for live theatre and her respect for anyone who risks performing in front of their peers is what fuels her theatrical enthusiasm and creativity. She recognizes the impact that theatres have on communities and the people in them and is, “…oh so pleased to be able to share her skills with audiences as either actor or director.”
